A liturgical and modern language across the Arab world.

Arabic is the liturgical language of Islam and the native language of hundreds of millions from the Atlantic to the Arabian Gulf. Learning it means taking on a root-based vocabulary, a grammar quite unlike the European family, and a split between formal Modern Standard Arabic and the spoken dialects, in return for direct access to a literature, a faith, and a region central to world affairs.
